Everyday Language: Laundry

Laundry is a universally annoying task.  So instead of using your few free minutes during the day while baby naps to do laundry include them in the task. Here are the concepts you can focus on when doing laundry.

Colors: Show baby the pink shirt and the blue shirt

Size: Daddy has a big shirt and baby has a small shirt

Texture: Soft blankets and rough towel

Sequence: First you put the clothes in the washer, then you put the clothes in the drier, and then you fold.

Sorting: Sort pants vs. shirts or mommy’s clothes vs. baby’s clothes

Problem Solving: Oh no we lost a sock.  Let’s go back and see if it's in the drier.

Look at that you taught your baby lots of language and did the laundry.  Great job!
