Everyday Language: Making a Smoothie
Everyday Language: Making a Smoothie
The tasks we do every day involve a TON of language. So instead of trying to do the laundry, the dishes, the cooking, and the cleaning while baby naps include them in the task! Here are the concepts you can focus on when making a smoothie.
Color: red strawberries, blue blueberries, green kale, yellow pineapple, orange orange juice
Size: Big strawberries and small raspberries
Texture: Bumpy strawberries and smooth blueberries or cold frozen fruit
Shape: Round blueberry, rectangular pineapple, you can even rip that kale to make a triangle
Sequence: First you add the ingredients, then you press blend, last you eat. Make sure you use First, Then, Next Last. You can start with simple sequences and add steps as baby grows.
Problem Solving: Oh no my smoothie is too thick! I guess I will try and add some more juice and see if that makes it thinner.
Look at that you taught your baby lots of language and made breakfast. Great job!
